In celebration of their 63rd birthday and surpassing a previously held record, the world’s oldest conjoined twins Ronnie and Donnie Galyon took a trip to Florida’s amusement parks. Ronnie and Donnie Galyon unofficially became the record holders on the day after they turned 63 on October 28.
Ronnie and Donnie are joined at the waist and share a lower digestive tract, groin, rectum and penis which Donnie controls. They have separate arms legs, hearts and stomachs.
Born in 1951, they stayed in the hospital two years while doctors tried to find a way to separate them. But when they figured out that there was no way to spilt them without risking one of their deaths, their parents said to leave them be. Ronnie has said that, that was right move.
The twins have worked in circuses and sideshows throughout their lives and retired in 1991 at age 39.
