Winter is a time in which the risk of heart problem increases. Heart diseases and stroke are biggest killers in America. According to the study, during holiday season 5% heart related problems are occurring.
There are number of reasons of heart problems during winter including temperature, poor stress management and lack of physical routine. According to the Dr. Michael Roizen “The combination of poor diet and other stressors can trigger plaque ruptures and cause chunks of fatty deposits lining arteries to enter the bloodstream, potentially leading to more risk for heart attack and stroke”.
Suggestion to keep heart healthy during winter
- Keep a healthy diet: In a winter healthy diet is much important. In a research in America Less than 1 percent of adults meet the America Heart Association’s definition for an “Ideal healthy Diet” which means the people need to make some smarter nutrients decision. Vitamin D, Omega 3 fatty acid, Soya milk, Beta glucose, oats and vitamin C are very useful to keep heart active.
- Exercise and Yoga: In winter exercise and yoga is very useful. Regular exercise and yoga helps lower the risk of cardiovascular disease. It helps to circulate the blood in whole body. In winter physical movement helps to keep you active and secure.
- Avoid Alcohol: Most people think that drinking alcohol during winter helps them to stay warm. But too much alcohol can cause atria fibrillation and Arrhythmia or irregular heartbeats. So stay in limit when you drink alcohol.
- Don’t ignore the signs: Never ignore any discomfort in the chest, severe sweating, shortness of breath and pain in the neck, arms, jaws and shoulders. These are symptoms of heart attack, never ignore them. If you are feeling any symptoms then immediately visit to your doctors.
